Taking nclex 2/13/13

Published

Hi guys!

I will be taking nclex-RN in almost less than 24 hours. Today I plan to go over basics such as infection control, my PDA book, and lab values. I've done all I can do to prepare for this exam and now all I can do is to continue to pray, believe, and trust in God! I want to do things today that will help manage my anxiety I.e exercise, listen to inspirational music, and relax. I also plan on waking up early before my exam( around 5am) to exercise. Any last minute tips on priority or just the exam in general would be greatly appreciated as well as encouragement. Nursing is my passion and dream career!!! I and I pray by the end of this week I will be able to call myself an RN!!!!

Goodluck! You can do it!

Good luck & go with your first mind

Sounds like you have a good plan! You'll be on here tomorrow telling us about the good pop up :)

Good luck!

Goodluck to us! I'm also taking mine tomorrow at 1pm. I'm also freaking out.

Good luck! I just took mine yesterday. It shut off at 75 and I wanted to scream lol! Did the pearson vue trick yesterday and got the good pop up, which is a pretty accurate way to know if you passed or not. This morning I woke up and my name was on my state board of nursing website with my active license number! What a rush. You got this! Just breathe and be confident!

Also, here is a tip: look at the choices over a few times before answering. With the above passing level questions, the answer is not always obvious. I actually caught myself a few times just picking the obvious answer and hit the 'next' button but i slowed myself down and broke down each option...and then I could see that the answer does not just jump out at you. They were tricky little buggers but you can critically think it out for sure! You'll do great!

Don't freak out! Try to relax... And believe in yourself! I've done all I can do! I'm trying to remain calm so I'll be able to focus tomorrow. And tell yourself over and over you can do it! I want to freak out too, but I know it will not help. I pray that we will be RNs after we leave our test tomorrow!!!!

Thank you so much for this tip. Congrats to you as well... You did it!!!!

Two things I learned taking the NCLEX today (75 questions and the good pop up, WOOHOO!).

1. Slow down. On a few questions I went so fast I know I did not choose the correct answer because just as I clicked "next" I saw the right answer. And on a SATA question I chose only one answer.

2. Exactly what a poster above said about the answer not being obvious on higher level questions. It's probably not the obvious answer.

Good luck tomorrow! You will be fine.
