I am retaking the NCLEX-RN in first week in Sept for 2nd time. I was near passing in all areas and got all 265 questions! So far this is what I am using to study and wanted to know about some others:
1) Read the complete Saunders Strategy Book and completed the CD ROM
2) Half way through the Saunders Comp. book doing questions and reading rationales
3) CD ROM/ w Saunders Book
4) Last time I did the Kaplan Trainer CD/ Did not seem to help, what do you guys think?
5) I am doing about 200 questions a day, want to know where I can get info on the Herbal questions and Disaster Questions?
6) The Mosby CAT is that worth ordering? I have 2 weeks left and I am off for 14 straight days so I can study all day. Has anyone used it? How long does it take to get Password? and is there any disaster, priotorizing, and herbal questions on this?
Sorry so many questions, I am determined to pass!!!!!
Thanks

Within the last few days another user posted what she did and how she studied for the NCLEX. I thought these were very useful ideas, may this will help you. Good luck and I hope that the second time goes better for you!
Since I can't cut and paste here, it's entitled something like "Here's How I Passed the NCLEX". The user name jhype posted it. This may be of some help to you.

Exactly, BabyRN2BE. The OP posted on 8-11-05. Very good pointers for the RN NCLEX.
Just do a search for the OP and any threads started and you will find this info.

The book should only be used as a resource at this point. It should not be your focus.
I already responded to your pm that you sent me.

I used the Mosby CAT, and I got my password as soon as I paid online. I thought it was very helpful... it gave me a percentile ranking of how likely I was to pass the NCLEX. I did about 200 questions a night as well. All in all, I think it's worth the money.
Good luck!

hi i passed my 2nd try the first time i was the same i only had a few areas under passing standard and got all 265 the second time i got 265 too. i think the saunders is good. i used both books u did but focused on questions and did about 100 a day. mosby cat i also used it was ok the questions were so so but they sometimes repeated themselves. you can pay online and get your password right away. i did not use the kaplan cd the second time around i dont find it helpful. i have some info on herbal i can send you them if you send me a pm and i also have disaster triage info too send me a pm with your email and ill send it. i think your on the right track just relax and continue what your doing. Good Luck )
