Taking NCLEX On 3-21-2012

Published

so this is the thread to force me to keep on track for my exam and anyone else who is taking nclex in march around this time

study guide-saturday 3-3-12

plan on taking 150 questions from kaplan q bank today - saturday

plan on reviewing 3 subjects from hurst- renal- done, neuro, endocrine

then just reviewing random topics from kaplan book-

sunday

plan on taking test q4 from kaplan which i believe is 100 or 150 questions and if i get through that reading of 2 more hurst video handouts

test 3/21- i have to buckle down harder.

**i have done 450 kaplan q bank questions as of friday

3 kaplan q tests = 300 questions

kaplan pre diagostic test 180q, post test 180 q

by march 19th -sunday- i need to have finished a total of 1200 kaplan q bank questions and 4 more q exams inorder to be eligible for their refund policy and really be in good shape for the exam so i have a ways to go.

I am scheduled for April 2nd. I am focusing on Psych and Priority for the next week. Neuro and musculoskeletal the following. I am using Saunders, Nclex 4000 & PDA by Lacharity. God bless us!!

Good luck and yes, may the good Lord continue to bless us!

I consistently test at 70% or better in psyche so i'm good. I did do the Hurst Psyche review and plan to look over again before test. I love psyche. If it allowed me to keep up my nursing skills I would enter the field but it doesn't.

I have lots of NCLEX books Lipencott, Sandra, Prentice Hall, NCLEX made easy but to be honest I'm focusing on Hurst review and Kaplan. I have used Prentice hall a bit and the RN book that came with the course. I work so it's hard to put my focus on lots of other resources.

I have noticed that with priority I'm pretty good so I'm not gonna buy the La Charity especially as I only have 2 weeks but I suck at the SATA questions! ugghhh!

Ok, I did what I was supposed to do on Sat except when I took one of the 50Q test bank tests it said that I only took 10 questions even though I answered 50 although many of them seemed familiar so I'm not sure if I forgot to click on unused questions. Anyhoo, I did do 3 sets of 50Q which shoudld be 150q but the Kaplan program said I only did 110 .

I reviewed Neuro and Endocrine from Hurst

Sunday

Plan on taking Q4 Kaplan tests

Reviewing Ortho, Respiratory and Cardiac from Hurst

So far, I've reviewed Respiratory now on my wat to do Ortho

Only 17more days to go. I still have to do Hurst Peds, Maternity 1 and 2 and complications- will work on those t his week

Also set a goal of doing 500 questions Qbank Kaplan from Monday March 5 to March 11 and Kaplan Test 5- that should bring me up to 1050 total qbank questions completed with 150Q left to do- doable but gotta stay focused.

Did anyone else make their study goal on Sat, fell short or didn't do any studying and taking NCLEX in March?

I am satisfied with my goal. When did you graduate? December?

Specializes in Cardiology, NCLEX instructor.

Great way to create a study schedule and follow it! Don't forget to focus on your isolation precautions and sterile procedures!

yes, DEC

@futureRN: Good for you. Doesn't it feel good when you reach your daily study goal?

So far 560 Kaplan questions done from QBank -640Q remaining

Q1-Q4 tests done - Q 5-7 remaining

Readiness and Diagnostic Kaplan tests done

Great way to create a study schedule and follow it! Don't forget to focus on your isolation precautions and sterile procedures!

Yes, I have the pneumonics

MY Stupid Chicken hez

DROPLETISM

MRS WEE

Thanks for the reminder. I try to look at it every other day

I just completed Kaplan Q4 test, omg, 150 questions was hard for me to do without suspending the test but I made it through uninterrupted.

Score: 61.33

I'm pleased with that.

Made my goal: reviewed Hurst: Ortho, Pediatrics, Respiratory

Extras: Looked over Kaplan NCLEX book a bit on Erikson's statges as I'ved noticed in just about every 50 questions I do from Kaplan QBank I see an Erickson question related to children and I just saw one related to age 35-60

I had lots of meds I'd never heard of on theQ4 Kaplan test. Just used process of elimination but got down to 2 that I had no idea so just tried to figure out stems. Gonna take a break then go back to reviewing answers/rationales.

I hope to goodness that I don't get over 200 questions come NCLEX day, that is too much to concentrate in one sitting ugghh!

Random factsot this from the March Nclex thread here. It's teh All Nurses 300+ page review. I read the first 8 pages before doing my Q4 Kaplan tests and by golly some of the info there helped me with several questions.

Posting the link in my study thread so it doesn't get lost. Plan to review several pages a day. It's all over the place but it's reinforcing what I've read/seen in my hurst reveiw and some of the pneumonics are great.

Monday : questions done goal met

Completed 2 sets of 50 Kaplan qbank questions

scored: 52 and 54 - not great

Total questions done 660, remaining 540

58% average. Ihave got to get that up to 60-62% before the text

Tuesday

Do 2 sets of 50Q bank questions for a total of 100

Some content review
