I'm sure that this question has been asked many times, but I can't seem to find the answer........when do people normally take the NCLEX? I'm graduating the first week of May -- would taking it sometime before the end of May be typical? end of June? thanks!

The early the better. But to tell truth you are the only person who can answer that question.

It took 3 weeks from graduation until I got the ATT. As soon as I got it I went to the Pearsonvue website and scheduled the NCLEX for the earliest possible appointment--which was the next day. I just felt I was as ready as I'd ever be, and there was no point in prolonging the tension. I spent every spare minute from graduation studying and felt ready. I got the ATT on Monday, 9/13, took the test Tuesday, got my license in the mail yesterday.

You can't take it any quicker than the paperwork can be processed and you can schedule a test date. Of course, it is up to you to decide how much time you will need to prepare.

Depending on your own comfort level with taking it right out of class, you might ask around about a review class if that is something you might consider. Sometimes you can take it and the paper work fills in the time gap between graduation and when you get your ATT.
