Which medical dictionary is better? Are the basically the same thing? I'm looking for a new dictionary and I'm not sure which to get.

All I've seen are Tabers - at home, on the floor and in the ER

I love my Stedman's for Health Professions and Nursing. Has photos, illustrations, excellent anatomy section, etc. I've never used Taber's. Can't remember what we used at the hospital during clinicals, but I liked my Stedman's better.

I prefer Taber's. Mosby's is okay, never heard of Stedman.

I love Taber's! A big help during nursing school. It cleared up a lot of concepts that my nursing instructors were unable to articulate. You can also buy an electronic version of Taber's to download into your PDA - I think it's like $50. Very handy on the floor!

I bought stedman's because it was leather bound and fit in my backpack first quarter. Of course the bag died a horrible death when the wheels fell off loaded with thirty plus pounds of books.

I have to say I too love my Taber's. Of all of my required textbooks, this is the one I feel is most worth the money. There a lot of useful references in the back such as english to spanish medical translations, nsg. dx and the such. But as I have never seen Stedman's, I can't compare the two, but Taber's is very useful in my opinion and is a good investment. Also, as previously mentioned, the PDA download can be very useful. (I haven't done that yet, but my SIL is giving me Palm Pilot, so I think I will try it out)
