I work as a rehab tech on noc shift. I am a nursing student as well, and lately my ankles SWELL so bad. I have never experienced this before. Im on my feet quite a bit, as I work on a sub acute care unit.
Has anyone else experienced this? Im still searching for the right shoes as well. I must have gone through about 10 brand names so far, with easy spirit being my favorite, but they break down quickly.
How many of you get swollen ankles??

I started having swollen lower legs especially around the ankles for about the last 5 years (I'm now 32yo). I love Easy Spirit shoes also but I don't think you will find solutions in your shoe choice. I started wearing support stockings and that helped tremendously. I notice a huge difference when I wear them which I do most of the time.

When I work in the hospital I work 7p to 7a. My doctor has given me maxide 25 mg generic to take the nights I work. My feet and ankles hurt. The maxide has taken care of that.

Watch your sodium intake and drink lots of water. Also put your feet up whenever you can and wear footie socks. All of the above helped me a lot!
