Wasn't able to go bird watching yesterday, weather was quite humid and the mosquitoes were very aggressive. Instead I went to the pet store and got somethings in preparation for the new cat and stopped at the library. Had lunch with dad as usual, did the laundry and some cleaning and got a new insect repellent

Today will skip church and instead try to go out bird watching again with the new repellent to see if that works better. The air quality is less good that yesterday but not bad enough that I would have to stay in. Will also start a crock pot recipe for the week

Will be considerably cooler today, in the low 80s. Hopefully the humidity will be less too

    Joe, a new cat??!! Lovely!! From a shelter, or a friend, or ??? Color? Domestic shorthair? I'm glad for you!

    Soon we will head out to Oak Glen for the Gospel Sing. The leader is sick with a bad head cold, so others will step into his shoes. I hope he feels better soon, those (especially in summer) are miserable.

    The affected area on my upper arm is still warmer than the surrounding areas, though the edema is subsiding. Itching is not as intense, either. All in all, it is improving with treatment. Again, though, I'm glad I made an appointment for f/u. I'm surprised at how quickly the situation escalated. I was seen less than 48 hours from the initial bite/sting, and in that time it had really progressed. I can still tell there is extra fluid around the area.

    Little Doggy is doing VERY well.

    Dh is getting used to wearing hearing aids. He is, overall, pleased at how they can be adjusted and at the choices of shapes to fit in the ears. And they are not like the aids he was handed, some 15 years ago -- which amplified everything IN BACK of him, and not in front! He was greatly disappointed with those, needless to say! These are a great improvement (and were much less expensive), and he can make adjustments via his phone (bluetooth). Control. Give him control!!! We will see if he will leave them on for today's Gospel Sing. He has expressed reluctance to do so, as the banjo is such a loud instrument (and that's what he will play today).

    It is predicted to be 99 degrees here today; should be 20 degrees cooler up in the mountains (yay).
