Stars hoping for a dull day despite her negativity

Dianah hope you sleep better tonight

NJ22 hope the provider can find a solution for your heels

Did bird watching in the morning, but didn't see much in the way of birds, although the weather was nice.  Took the cat to the vet for her bloodwork.  Then had lunch with dad.  Ran some errands, then came home and worked on the puzzle and the shopping list for next week.  Watched The Muppet Movie, which I haven't seen in many years.  Interesting that it seemed more aimed at adults than children

Today will do some meal prep before church then go early to serve as usher.  After church planning to do the cooking for the week and bake muffins.  Will exercise as well.  Will be a quieter day.

Will be a cooler day today, only up to the mid to upper 70s

Good morning!

Joe, enjoy your day.

I'm pretty tolerant of heat and humidity but love my air conditioning.  We got a lot of rain yesterday which tempered the temperature but it stays in the 90's through October around here and is always relatively humid.

A couple of things went on around shift change that kept me busy.  We were short staffed as a nurse called off (probably went to the same party that the coworker that I was covering for went to as they are friends) so I had to take a couple of patients and we had one tech for 20 patients.

I ordered Chinese on the way home and they didn't have my order but they eventually found it "oh you ordered through GrubHub!".  Apparently they have a separate machine for tickets from GrubHub.  Anyway it was good.

Went to bed late and got up at 5:30 and fed the dog and we went back to bed and I slept to 0830 which is really late for me and made me miss my yoga class.

I have just today and tomorrow left on the antibiotic for my food poisoning.  I knew that cipro doesn't absorb well with high calcium foods like dairy but didn't stop to think that my kale smoothie or tofu dinner is high calcium.  This is where I get my calcium eating mostly vegan.  So yesterday I cut out the smooth and the tofu I was planning on eating.  We'll see if this helps more but too bad I realized this too late.  Also I read to not take the probiotic at the same time so as to not kill the good bacteria it provides.  Who knew?  I've been sick over five weeks, I really don't know what normal is anymore.  LOL

Not much else happening.  Guess I will go to the gym to workout instead of yoga.  There's a yoga class tomorrow.

It's NEWN-TYME and I yam UP!

Tinker says Nannie is up and about to come out of her room, oh joy, and Tinker was right. Fortunately, Ms Nannie's pj's and her bed are dry, so I don't have to deal with that, anyway.

I have decided not to feel bent out of shape today; I hope I can 'honor' my decision.

That's a long time to be sick, Tweety. Ugh. When you have one tech for 20 patients do you assign the tech to only the heaviest patients? And nurses do full care on the others?

The Muppet Movie was brilliant. I always thought The Muppet Show had a lot of content for adults to appreciate.

Went to church this morning. Yesterday afternoon I went to the library and used the (modern, computer-enabled) microfiche reader to look at local newspapers from the 70s. Starting research for the story I want to write.

The forecast shows a couple of rainy days and highs in 70s and low 80s all week.

Yes.  The tech is assigned to 13 of the 20 and the others are the RN's responsibility.  It's not ideal because the RNs had 6:1.  But teamwork kept it together.  It's frustrating because we work hard and then get called out by the patients for being late and substandard in our care.  It's not good for anyone.
