Suggestions, please!!

Hi everyone! I am currently going into my senior year of a BSN program. I am on my winter break and go back to school January 23/24th. I live in Long island ny and was wondering how I can go about getting additional certifications or what I should do either now or over the summer (or both) to further my education and help with getting a job. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? I love L & D and womens health so I would like to do something to help facilitate getting a job in that area. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

You could look into the NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), becoming a certified lactation educator/specialist (this is not the same thing as becoming a lactation consultant), or doula training. You might want to contact Planned Parenthood and see if you can become a clinic assistant or peer educator.

Great ideas! Thank you

NRP for sure. Check out the AWHONN website for fetal monitor certifications (intro, intermediate, and advanced). ACLS would be good, too. There are IV certifications out there, but I have NO idea if they actually help with jobs.
