Submitting application on a weekend

Is it true that your job application can get lost in the crowd if you submit your job application through the weekend? Does it matter in the week when to submit a job application?

No, it's not. If you submit it electronically, regardless of time, it will be cued in the order it was completed.

Most of the (employment application) software systems in use today are completely configurable. Organizations can set up filters that automatically trigger priority rankings for the applications they receive. If your info includes any of those magic phrases, you'll end up on the top of the virtual pile.

From the perspective of a Crusty Old Bat, I think that the switch to all electronic, faceless & impersonal application processes is a huge FAIL. It's discouraging for applicants who only interact with keyboards and screens; it's frustrating for hiring managers who are unable to obtain a sense of the 'human qualities' of applicants based upon their digital info. IMO, the only benefits are for HR who now have better tracking and management systems.
