Study Habbits

Is there anyone that can give me some good advice on good study habbits. I have to study for the rn pre-entrance exam. That is the least I can do since I had to drop my classes for the summer. I need advice on what to do. I hate reading and I know I have to. Please Help!!!!

I'm a little confused...your profile says you are "starting nursing school this summer", but the above post refers to needing to study for the pre-entrance exam. Is this an exam to get accepted into the program, or an exam everyone takes at the beginning of the program to evaluate their knowledge before starting classes?

NBMom1225 we have to take the test before we can apply and to see who gets accepted first and who gets put on the waiting list. subee, how dare you suggest that I go in another direction and you don't know me. People make mistakes and I doubt you are PERFECT! I asked for advice on how to establish good study habbits. mauxtav8r, thanks for the advice and I will be sure to take it to heart!!

"subee, how dare you suggest that I go in another direction and you don't know me. "

Settle, settle, settle . . . .

Please don't flame me here. I'm just noticing that Subee only mentioned what you originally said.

Truthfully, she is right. Blunt, but right. But on the other hand, you are also right when you realize your own weakness (you said you don't like to read). College is all about reading, so I'm hoping that you will be able to find some peace with it.

Good luck with nursing school. But realize that the odds are tough. I started in pre-reqs with 300 students, 500 total applied for 125 available spots. Fewer than 80 will graduate with my group. Probably there are some in that number who never liked reading, but they all had to get through it anyway. I hope you will, too.

I was merely stating that I am so afraid. All the negative talk about nursing makes me want to run like hell. Being a nurse is my passion and I did not appreciate that statement. That is so judgemental and I am sure a few of us have spelled words incorrectly. I asked for simple advice on how can I make studying/reading more interesting to me and instead I got rude feedback.

Associations....build on what you know.

Start with systems...general A&P, then disorders and diseases. Picture the normal working system in you head. Add diseases or disorders one at a time and visualize the s/sx of each.

Always remember ABC's when choosing nursing dx's and nursing interventions.

Know what you're talking about before you post!!!

What does this mean and to whom is it intended?
