Study Groups

Hi all,

My A&P class wants to get together to study outside of class. What format does your study group use? Do you sit and ask each other questions or what? I have never been part of a study group before and do not know what to expect.

Thanks, Nancy

When I was in nursing school we were tested by modules of subject areas. My study group took our learning objectives for each module we were working on and split them up among us. Each of us had several objectives which we thoroughly researched and presented to the others at the next study group meeting. We could work on any of the objectives ourselves, but for the study group we had that specific responsibility. Often we xeroxed several pages of information we had collected and gave each member of the group a copy of that information.

study groups really worked for me especially during college and even when I took the local boards. we first study the lesson like for an hour then

discussed what we understand about it. usually the brightest among the group get to share more info. we also don't all get to read the same book, 1 will be reading another good book but still same concept. then we do question and answer portion. all the members must participate. I suggest that it should be in small groups like 5 members.
