a 78yrs old pt with ngt admitted to the er under close supervision of an rn who is tourist has an advanced directive in his home country which indicate dnr. what nursing intervention shld the nurse take if the pt cease breathing and show signs of mi

1- dnr and leave ngt in place - pt having a dnr in another country is of no relevance, because pt need to have one in her chart in america been a tourist. another dnr need to be place in her chart for it to be effective.:nono:

2- resuscitate and remove ngt

3- perform acls

4- perform abc - cpr:up:

1- dnr and leave ngt in place

2- resuscitate and remove ngt

3- perform acls:confused:  this a secondary intervention because acls is done under advise of an er hcp with defibrilation, epinephrine, atropine order while cpr can be done w/o hcp involvement or supervision

4- perform abc
