Student Hours?

Hey,

So I would really love to apply to the nursing program here, this is the only college within an hours dive that I can attend. I work Monday-Friday 2-pm-10pm. I know all colleges are different but I was wondering how are the hours in nursing school? I want this so bad but also live in a place where I CANNOT work part time. Most part time jobs are about 8 an hour but I need at least 12.00 full time just to pay bills, this town is expensive. I want to apply but every time I ask the college what hours the full time schedule is, I get referred back to the college website, which does not state hours, only days. First year students can only do full time, after that they have the option of night or part time classes. Does anyone know what times classes normally are during the day?

(Im not to worried about studying only class hours, I work in a call center at night 4+ hours of my shift is not doing anything....)

    It's going to vary by the school in terms of class time and clinical time; and, it will vary by the person as to how much time that's needed to study for skills and theory. Call the school you are interested in going to and do your homework.

    Most schools have a way to look at classes online. I would say it would be hard to fit school full time in before 2 esp if you have to drive an hr. Do you have a family? Or is it just you? If it's just you could you move to the town the school is in? Then you could get a job that's closer to school.

    OP has already asked the school and gotten a vague referral to where the information they need isn't even located.

    OP, you need to ask the school again and state that the hours are not posted on the school's website. Don't let them give you the run-around.

    Nursing school in general is a "we don't care about your schedule." Meaning you may struggle. However, my community college did try to offer clinicals on the weekends and an online lecture component along with one night time lecture (which started anytime from 3 pm to 6 pm).

    They utilized a testing center where you had to schedule an appointment to take a test on their computers while they filmed you. However, there were loads of stuff they had that caused issues like other classes not advertised or the sim labs. For day classes, I would assume that it would be any time from 8 am to 5 pm.

    So even if the classes seem to work, there is no guarantee they would work next semester.

    Im sorry, I might not have been clear. The town I'm in has one, but the options are for what I could do are limited. I tried looking at classes online and they're not easy to look through, there are loads of different times, they have multiple options but from taking my CNA I know that's not how it works, the program and hours are already predetermined. The better nicer school and an hour away. I cant afford to move there. I live in Durango, CO, this place is known for people getting stuck here, and it being really hard to leave... I'm trying to exhaust my options but its very difficult.
