My VNSA is doing a Home Interior candle fund raiser. We get to keep half of all profits. They are selling very very well, I've sold just over $100 in the first day...

:coollook: thank you for the idea! that is a pretty neat idea. i will have to run it by the other officers. thank you again!

We contacted our local hospital where we did majority of our clinicals and asked if they would do a "jean day" for us. All the employees were allowed to wear jeans for a day, but had to pay 1.00, and the money was then donated to us. We did it Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and gave out tickets when employees came to our stand and they had to show their tickets to their managers in order for them to be wearing jeans on those days.

Another ideas is the discount cards for local restaurants. It is a lot of work, but most companies will donate. Look these cards up on the internet and that will get you started. I think we googled fundraising discount cards!

gas pumping for tips! full service...

Last fall, our student nursing association sold sweatshirts with the name of our school & nursing program on them. They were a big hit but of course, only sold to nursing students. We had several students by small sizes for their children too.

Now I think they are having tee-shirts & totebags made with funny nursing slogans on them. Again, only nursing students will be interested in buying. I think we are also going to be raffling off an afgan or blanket of some sort. I wasn't real keen on that idea but peole will spend a buckor so for a chance to win something.

Our group uses the money raised to pay for each term's pinning ceremony.

Oh the VNSA also did a gift basket geared toward nursing students. A stethoscope, bp cuff, pen light, drug book, etc. All kinds of stuff essential for school.

Yes, we also sell t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, car stickers, badge holders, scrub pants, and coffee mugs that say our school of nursing on them. Every semester we sell these items and they really are a big hut because you have like 4-5 nursing classes that will buy off of you and the staff will usually buy stuff as well.

We'd have several students make crock pots of chili...others would bring crackers, sour cream, cheese, bowls, spoons, etc. We'd sell it at lunch time in the student lounge. It was always a huge success!!

Bake sales were always popular as well.

Basically, all our fundraisers were on campus.

At my school, a ton of the organizations serve a "lunch" in the hall. It's usually something simple like hotdogs or spaghetti (you can precook the spaghetti, keep it in a cooler and warm it in hot water in a crock pot), and alot of the students buy b/c it's a change from the school eatery, cheaper, and helps a great cause.
