Stony Brook Basic BSN class of 2020

Nursing Application has now opened for the Basic BSN fall 2018 program. I will be submitting my application Sept 1. I noticed there was no forum so I decided to start one... Good Luck to everyone that is applying. It is a bit early but it doesn't hurt to communicate with everyone. Has everyone finished all their pre-reqs?

Does anyone know if they are the still sending out decisions?

Yes spoke to the department today. Decisions roll out until the last interview

Thanks a lot Anniewilli! So you say that I should get about 5 questions of Algebra and there is long division? I appreciate the info, working on my math and interview questions now.

Sorry! I meant to ask if they were still inviting people for interviews.

Yes, the department personel I spoke to said there is no final decision made until the last day of interviews. Meaning you can be invited to an interview up to this point. (I would assume that likely it would probably be a week or so prior to give students time to make room in their schedules for this interview, not litterally the night before, but this is how she phrased it)

Its definitely not bad news, I guess no news is good news still, but it's definitely very stressful to be in limbo. Im in the same boat there, so I understand. Good luck though! Maybe we will have some good news to look forward to this week.

Great to hear, but at the same time it's very stressful! Good luck to everyone here! I have my fingers crossed for you all!

Do they send out denial emails? Or do they just not send anything

I don't think they do until after all of the acceptances have been given out even after all the interviews are done. But it's a guessing game

Yeah I agree with Jared, they send out rejection emails the same time they sent out acceptance and wait list letters.

Hi all! I received the interview email on the 18-19th and i am scheduled on feb 5th at 9am. I also applied to the accelerated one year program but did not get in. I did get a rejection letter in the mail, and no email, about a couple of weeks ago. I knew i didn't get in when i didn't get the interview email when everyone else did. But i am super excited/nervous about this interview and i hope everyone else gets invited! I'm sure there is another wave coming of invites so stay hopeful! Good luck to the rest of the candidates on your interviews. Anyone scheduled for February 5th at 9am?

I'm scheduled for Feb 5th at 9am as well!

Hey jac97! Awesome! i started brushing up on the math... I'm nervous because who knows what's actually going to be on the test. Look forward to meeting you and wish you the best of luck.
