Stethoscope

Hey guys. I'm a LPN student (enrolled but classes haven't started yet) and I am in need of a stethoscope. I have been reading into the hype of a Littmann stethoscope and find myself wanting one more and more everyday.

My question is, do you have a stethoscope that you would recommend for under $200.00? Thank you in advance. :)

Stethoscopes are virtually all the same to me. I use the one that most hospitals provide.

Don't spend much... I promise you it will walk away.

Go for a Littman Clasic 2 SE. Great value and fantastic acustics. Price is around 70 dollars.

Thanks so much for the feedback both of you. I looked at the Littmann Classic 2 SE and it has great reviews. I think that's what I'll be getting. :)

I have to agree with no t getting an expensive one, it will truly walk away. You will be so busy with patient care that the minute you walk away and leave it, it will be gone. Go for an inexpensive model starting out.

I am starting the LVN program next week and just ordered the Littmann cardio 3. Yes its expensive but according to my nurse friends, its the best. There was an option to have my name engraved on it which I did. I'll have to guard it like a child to make sure it doesnt get taken!

To me stethoscopes are not the same at all, the one my school gave me was horrible, my classmate let me use her lipincott (one spelled wrong) and it was so much better, those are the only two I used so I don't think I have a say in suggesting one for you, just saying they are not all the same

Honestly, a thirty dollar model worked fine for me. The longer I am a nurse, the less I spend on equipment.
