I was born and raised in southern California and finally moved to another state nearly 6 months ago. There are many people here (in North Central Texas) who have moved from southern California, so not all of us stick around for the 'long haul.'

Family - I love living near them. We still may move someday... if we ever want to buy a house! I do love it here though - beautiful!

family here too.

I never knew my grandparents/ext. family. I want my kids to know theirs

I lived in cali til i was 8 then moved to IL. Once I gradutated I enlisted in the navy & got stationed in cali. Now, I'm back in IL finishing up school (IL is the best state for VA school benefits). My husband & I (& our best friends) have decided to move back to cali in 3 yrs. We think it's worth living in a condo instead of the house b/c cali just makes us happy. Plus, we're all very active & don't plan on being in it very much! We've grown up in IL w/ our parents owning nice brand new homes that are a very decent size w/ a good size yard for a lot cheaper than you'd find a house in cali......A LOT cheaper! Still, for us as kids we were always just stuck in the house b/c the weather sucks & there's nothing to do but go to the mall. We all don't want that for us in our adult life & we want our kids to be able to play outside year round & have tons of stuff do. Cali offers that to us. Plus, we all have family out there.

(we grew up in the south suburbs of chicago)
