I know this post has gone around many times.BUT they are all older posts..
I am an RN doing a RN to BSN program at ULL.
I need a statistics class... The class they offer is impossible for a working nurse.
I need like a statistics for dummies type class. Any suggestions out there...

We were allowed to substitute the traditional statistics for a simpler/different statistics course that was geared towards education and nursing students. Not saying your school had this but it is worth a shot to ask if there are any substitute courses or equivalent courses available. Only the school can give you a direct answer.

Maybe look into community colleges near you? Statistics is brutal. I tell everyone my best advice about it is to hire a tutor from the beginning. Good luck!

Ull does not tell you they are cramming 15 weeks worth of work into 7 weeks for online classes. But, their Stat214 class is set for 14 weeks. After registering for the class I looked up the professor on rate my professor. That particular professor had poor rating and lots of comments. I also rated the biology and English professors on the same web site. The ratings and information were spot on. I canceled my registration for the Stat class. I would recommend taking the academics at a local community college. I would never take another online accelerated class with anyone.

I took an online Introductory to Statistics Class through Rio Salado College. It fell under a PSY230 credit instead of its alternative Math206 credit. This was inline with my Nursing prerequisites. Anyhow, even though I suck at math, I passed this class with an A.
Pros - I could study at my pace when I wanted. Weekly quizzes had a chance to redo them 1x each.
Cons - This class required ALOT of time, even though it was online. A lot of self teaching and videos to watch.
Duration of course - 14 Weeks
My friend is also taking a Statistics online, however through Glendale Community College instead. She also says that it requires a lot of her time.
Statistics in general is not hard, per say, most of it is designated formulas which you plug into your calculator. However, knowing when and why and what formula to use, can be confusing.
Anyhow good luck finding a course that works for you.

Whatever you do, don't take it online. That damn class can go to hell!
No, really I think I'm just mentally challenged when it comes to seeing charts and things. I had a hard time with it though, and I did well in the others.

Can anyone give me any advice. Im thinking about taking psy230 through Rio Salado. Is it easy? I'm not the best at math. Is there anyone in particular I should take it with?
