state boards

Published

Hello!!!

I will be graduating in May and I am a little nervous about taking the state boards:eek: . I am not sure if I should take them right after I graduate or if I should wait for a couple of months and study. What would be the best time to take them? Any suggestions on how to study for them? .

I think most people agree - the sooner the better so that you hang onto as much of that nursing school information as possible. Definitely don't delay submitting your state license application, background check or fingerprints, whatever is required in your state. Once you all of the paperwork is OK and you receive an Authorization to Test, you will have a chance to schedule the exam within a certain amount of time (three months I think). You can use this time to study and/or take an NCLEX review course.

Best of luck!
