Hi! Congrats! I just got accepted for fall! Was this your first time applying? I'm so excited!!
Yes this is my first year applying I feel super fortunate....congrats to you!!!! Can't wait to start this journey. Have you taken the TeAS test?
You are very fortunate! This was my second time. I have taken the TEAS. Take the practice tests on the ATI website. Those were really helpful because it's the exact format of the real test. Just remember all you need is a 62%. That's easy!! Goo luck :-)

I got accepted as well! I've been applying to RN programs for 2 years, and this is my 2nd time applying at SRJC. I checked out the campus last weekend, and was pretty impressed. A good friend of mine grew up near Santa Rosa, and had a lot of good things to say about the college & the community.
I had to scramble to get into a nutrition class in order to retain my slot. I took nutrition back in 2009, but it didn't have a diet therapy component (at least not to SRJC's satisfaction). Fortunately and quite luckily, I was able to add an online class (Food & Nutrition 50 at Butte College) at the last minute.
This so exciting, albeit somewhat overwhelming. I live currently live in SF. Over the next 2 months, I need to get through a 4-unit nutrition class, get packed up, move to the Santa Rosa area with my girlfriend, and jump through all the hoops that SRJC has in store for us before classes start.
How do you all feel about creating our own discussion forum where we can keep in touch, exchange information, and generally stay on top of things? I'm good with computers/technology and will happily create a private BLOG or Facebook page where out postings can be private.
Congratulations to all the admits, and I look forward to meeting you at orientation!

Epiphany2000, congratulations!!!! I've also been applying for 2 years now and it sure feels like a long time comin!
I did all my prerequs here at the JC. It's an incredible school with a very reputable program. We're so lucky to have been accepted here.
I take it you're starting in the fall? I am too! August will be here so soon!
The FDNT 62 class you have to take, it was a little challenging for me but only because it was the first class I took coming back to college. Having all your prerequs done, you'll do great, especially if you've already taken a nutrition class.
As for the hoops they want us jumping through, I know there will be many! I have a few friends in the program now and they've said sometimes they feel like hoop jumping is a class all on its own!
Well, I would be down to join a page if you make one, but you'd need to be really careful about the way you go about it. The instructors are very strict about social media, as far as including info about their program. I'm not certain about the specific rules, but I know there have been many issues with students around this. It wouldn't hurt to call them ahead and ask what they would suggest you do. Keep me posted on what you decide.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to orientation in July!!

Hi, does anybody know the how the alternate list works at srjc? I got my rejection letter in June, but last week they called me in to take the TEAS for "possible openings in Spring 2014". I sent them my TEAS scores, and I was so excited, but now I'm wondering how many alternates they call in as backups? Does anyone have an idea of my chances based on past attrition rates? Did they give any clues at the TEAS test? BTW Congrats to everyone who got in! Hopefully I'll be seeing you in the spring!

I am on the same boat with you, too. I am on alternate list for spring 2014. I took Teas test on July 10th. about 30 people or less took the test on the same day with me. I guess there are about 30 people on alternate list for spring 2014. they will call us if someone don't take the spot. I search around on the internet. some says if you are on alternate list, your chance is good. good luck to you. and me also. ^^
Last year, everyone on the alternate list got in!
