Spring 2018 traditional selection

Hi,

I am currently on the waitlist and submitted my application in January. I was wondering if anyone has been accepted to any schools for the traditional part and approximately how long they waited.

Thank you !!!! I applied back in May and was going to change my placement order but I may remove chandler . Thanks for that posting

I have been on the traditional waitlist since Sept 2016...BOO!!! According to the Maricopa nursing website, traditional placements for spring 2018 started at the beginning of the month and shoul dbe complete by the first week of October. I am still holding on to hope that I may get placed, but the rational side of me says I won't be one of the chosen one's. I plan on getting my CEP app in with the next app period, so crossing my fingers I may be allowed to start fall 2018.

If you don't get placed for Spring 2018, it will due to the wait-list length. Everyone who applies for the ADN who meets the requirements will eventually roll around to the front of the line, and right now that is about 2 years or so. I'm just saying this in case you think not being "chosen" is any refection on *you*, because it isn't! If you do go ahead and submit for the CEP then you could shave off some wait time because their placements are made for the next semester (competitive entry though). And, worst comes to worst and you don't get in with CEP, by that point you'll be towards the top of the waitlist anyway!

UnionJack...sorry, maybe I should have chose my words better!! I understand how the wait list works, was just attempting to be light hearted about what seems to be an endless wait list, just hopeful that the end may finally be in sight

It feels like CEP has kicked traditional placement to the curb . Such a bummer

Oops - my bad! Sorry!

I definitely think you did the right thing getting your application in as soon as you could though!

I'm thinking that might become the case in the years to come. Some of the schools are already 100% CEP. Those that are generally more centrally located have a portion of ADN and CEP, but I wonder how long that will last? I'm just speculating, of course, but it seems with the hospitals having higher expectations for entry level nurses, it is getting much harder to get a job with the ADN.Not impossible, just harder.

Have you gotten any word on your placement yet ? :)

Not yet, I didn't do the CEP placement. I did however call the Nursing hotline and they told me it may be a slight chance I may get in this semester for traditional. If I do not then most definitely for spring of 19.

Oh nice!! Fingers crossed for you! I called the hotline and they said I might be looking at Spring 2019. :( I was hoping for this semester. This wait is miserable.

Oh I know! I am hoping for this semester, but deep down I know it probably won't happen till next semester. Which I'm kind of ok with. That would be cool if we ended up in the same cohort!!:)
