Spring 2022 Nursing Program at Suffolk county community college

Hello, all future nursing students! I am creating this forum early as I made the last forum for the FALL 2021 program. I found that this is very helpful for questions and to have a support system going through this journey. I am a current Suffolk student that is finished with all of the prerequisites except Micro. I planned to apply for the fall 2021 program but I did not get the grade I needed on the TEAS to apply so I am back at it! Never give up and keep positive! If anyone has any suggestions or helpful resources feel free to comment as this forum is for support! Thanks

Hello!

I have a TEAS score of 89 and 89 rubric overall. Hope we all make it and get through this together ??

Hello

A little bit about myself I graduated from Suffolk LPN program applied for the LPN to RN bridge last year didn't get in. Reapplied this year TEAS 82 and rubric 81. Finish all my pre reqs. Praying that we all get in. Also I applied for grant campus. Good luck everyone

Hi everyone, Graduated May 2020 RN program. You definitely need to get in the "Advanced" scoring on the TEAS to be in the running. I think that starts you off with 20 points on the rubric. Albeit I believe over 80 or 81 gets you into the advanced category (correct me if it has changed). Also avoid retaking pre-reqs particularly for AP 1 & 2, if you take any of them twice (some classmates tried to get a higher final grade to increase points given on rubric) and SON only gives you 1pt, they consider any pre-req taken twice, a "C" regardless of actual final grade acheived. Best of Luck !! It is a great program, they work you hard but you'll be so much better off in the long run.

Hi Everyone,

I just applied to the Spring 2022 program at Suffolk and I am so nervous!

I have taken:

A&P 1: A

A&P 2: In Progress (B+/A on the cusp - done 8/12)

ENG101: A

ENG102:  A

MAT103: A

PSY101: A

PHL211: A

And scored an 82% on the TEAS. I am registered to take Microbiology in the fall, but could not take it before the application deadline.

This gives me a 77 or 77.5 rubric score. I am hoping this is high enough, but it seems like it is just on the edge. Anyone in a similar place/from previous years?

Thanks!

Hi all!

Does anyone know about when we should hear a decision for the Spring 2022 start program?

Have all my pre reqs. Looks like a rubric score of 85. I don't know if this will be good enough but I'm hoping.

Hi! That’s a great rubric score! I believe we will hear end of sept beginning of oct latest ??

Hello, may I ask what was TEAS score?

*Your

Not sure if this was for me LOL mine was 89

Hello everyone

I believe around mid October we should get a response from Suffolk. I also believe and TEAS high 70 and above everyone should be good but, I do know someone that go a mid 70 on their TEAS and got into the program.

When I last spoke to an admissions counselor, I was told that for the 2021 RN program all accepted students actually had 80+ on the TEAS - but they also had a high number of applicants. Hoping for the best! Good luck everyone!

I am hoping that missing one pre-req will not completely disqualify me. Now that I am done with the Summer semester and have recalculated my rubric score, I have a 79 before taking Microbiology.
