Sprained finger

I sprained my left ring finger a few days ago. It's sore and swollen. I was wondering if there was anything else I could do for it, home remedy wise, besides ice, elevating it, and over the conter pain reliever?

Thanks,

Try "buddy taping" it to the finger next to it.....in your case, the middle finger would probably be best. This helps keep the injured finger immobile and reduces pain.

You can also tape the finger longwise, from the palm all the way to the fingertip and over the top and down to the metacarpals. Try to use real adhesive tape unless you're allergic. Sturdier.

OUCH!!

Ouch! I have done the same thing one too many. I have tried (can't remember what it is called) .......but it's like a finger cast only it is soft and flexible with a spongy enclosure. It helped tremendously and eased my pain (with some IBU of course :p ). The one I have used looks like tin foil from the outside, again very comfortable and flexible yet it absorbs the shock of bumping it to things or hurting it while sleeping etc.

Best of luck to you :)
