From what I understand, the wait can be shortened if you're military and have been to Iraq and if you voluteer at a hospital. The latter, I concluded by a post I read here of someone volunteering at JCL who got in faster. Anyone know of any other ways to get in faster or any other hospitals one can volunteer at that may speed it up?

Hi! Do you have more information about a shorter wait for veterans?
Thanks!
All I know is that my brother's brother-in-law came back from Iraq and started at MCC immediately. Since this post, I've asked his sister and mom if he's just doing prereq's and they have told me they don't think so - that he's "in the nursing program." I'm not sure they would know the difference though so it could be that he's just doing prereqs.
]Thanks for the reply! I'll see what I can find out about it and I'll let you know!

Having been to iraq, it poses no benefit in getting into nursing school through the traditional wait list. The only time it might be of benefit is if you apply to a fellowship program.
