Specialty Nursing Schools

I live in Kentucky, and, as far as I know, no schools in my state offer the program I want.

I want to become an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. University of Kentucky offers an NP program, but it is not specific to this program.

What are the schools that offer this program, on the eastern side of the U.S.?

I apologize if I am posting a lot, but I have a lot of questions.

Search that topic online, and you should find more specific info :)

Taylor, I plan on working on that. I just want to get a head start on things. :)

I'd suggest one thing at a time...when you get out of nursing school, you don't know where you'll end up in order to get a job...and that may influence where you end up finding a specialty program. :)

I agree with xtxrn. By that point, you may even be able to relocate to out of state programs so that it won't even matter. I am contemplating medical school after I get my BSN either that or MSN for sure, not just stopping at a BS, but I am only focusing on a BSN program right now and that in itself is a long and stressful process just to APPLY. Don't even want to think about being in yet. Good luck to you on whatever you do, though.

I would start with focusing on becoming a nurse FIRST!! Once you have some experience, you might have a better understanding on what type of nurse you wish to become..

One thing at a time, before nursing school i decided i would go to med school after nursing school, i did change my mind and didnt want to become a doctor at all. Then in school i thought i would love L&D but after my clinical rotation i noticed it wasnt for me.

You are not sure you would like acute NP till you are done with nursing school so be patient
