I took the RN boards today and I can't believe I failed! I worked sooo hard, and I have just about every review material you can imagine. I utilized hurst, Kaplan, Saunders, lacharity, etc.. The list goes on and on.. I have been through so much in the last year since I graduated. I really need to pass this exam, I felt in my heart that I was sooo close. The first time I took it I had 75 questions, but I lacked content and I also had a dad dying from cancer and was in hospice. So my timing was terrible. This time I had 265 questions and I felt so much better about it. But it still resulted in me going to the cc page after doing the pvt trick. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I must pass the next time the 3rd time must be the charm...

I so sorry honey, it definitely is heartbreaking especially with everything going on. My advice to you is to take a break, it is not like you do not know the content it's in there you learned it, you just have to apply it. Maybe your anxiety of knowing you must pass is getting in your way. What I did was I took my time read the question, looked at the answers, read the question again, took a deep breath and deciphered why the answer i chose was better that the others that were listed. Answer as many questions as you can from one source. Using too many can get in the way because all of them differ in some way. I used saunders and nclex 3500 but the two days before my test I chilled and had me time. Good luck you can do it!

I am very sorry to hear that  I have read quite a few stories on here where people have passed on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc, try and have done it. Don't give up.
Have you been reading all the rationales for the practice questions - right and wrong answers? Do you know what the question is truly asking? Are you reading the questions too fast? With Kaplan, which areas are you getting the lowest scores- Health Promotion & Maintenance, Pharmacology, Physiologic Integrity?

I am so sorry to hear that you failed. You can do this. I too am getting ready to take it again. I have failed several times myself. I lost my boy friend to leukemia right after graduation in 2010 so I know how you feel. We just have to have faith. I will be praying for you. Take a break for a little bit then get back at it. You can do this! :)

I am really sorry for everything that is going on with your life.Just want to let you know that you are not alone as i have appeared nclex several times.Never give up on your dreams.
Thanks everyone for your kind words!! I have finally crawled out from under my rock of depression:confused: and have decided to jump back into the books!! Iam so determined this time!!! I have come too far to back down now. I decided to use kaplan again, because i dont think i used it correctly the first time. Also, I will be using hurst for content, and following it up with saunders. I know it might seem like alot of materials, but i think those three used together are a triple threat and is exactly what i need to get me past the nclex beast!!! I hope to retest at the end of next month no later than the first week of september...
Oh and for those that wanted to know my below passing areas were pharmacological therapies and basic care and comfort, I will be hitting those extra hard this time...
