Socks!

I have nursing shoes already, but I need some recommendations for good socks! My feet get hot and sweaty easily, and when they do, I get eczema on them, which drives me insane. My dermatologist recommended that I get some really good, thick socks that keep my feet dry, especially for 12-hour shifts. Any recommendations? I live in a small town, so I'll probably have to order from an online place, unless Wal-Mart has some. Thanks!

Make sure those thick socks don't make your shoe too tight! I made that mistake a while back. I got a pair of dansko's that fit great (only WITH thin socks like I tried them on with in the summer). If I dare try to wear a thicker sock..my feet feel like they are losing circulation :(

I always just bought run of the mill socks, but look for some with something like "dry weave" technology. I have some of those that are very thin but keep my feet dry. Also, when I worked 12's I would change socks mid shift...helped a LOT!

See, thick socks just make my feet MORE hot and sweaty. I got some knee high support socks that are basically ted hose with much less compression. They're thin and comfy, and my feet never sweat in them.

If you do want to go the thick sock route, Powersox have a padded sole and are nice and thick on the bottom, with a little more ventilation on top. Here's a link to their site: http://www.powersox.com/

LOVE love love my Smartwool socks. Best socks ever. I have a couple of different styles, the ones with the "light cushion" (read the descriptions) are my favorite.

I love Thorlos socks. I got addicted and can't stop wearing them after several years.
