I'm almost done with my studying for Sociology using The College Network's book. How hard is the Sociology test and what should I really concentrate on in my studies? Thank you!

Specializes in pulm/cardiology pcu, surgical onc.

I took the sociology clep over a month ago and while I don't remember my score (or for that matter what the whole thing was about LOL), I passed easily. Although there were a few things on the test that I didn't remember reading in the book, it could be that they were future sample questions. I really concentrated my studying and knowing the 3 different aspects/theorists and it seemed to be enough for me. Good luck!

Thank You! I hope to be able to take it by the end of this month.I'll post my experience when I'm done.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

I'm planning on taking this one later this month, too! :) Good luck!!

EC isn't exactly forthcoming about being able to CLEP out of subjects ... not that I blame them for it. LOL! I just thought to ask about it back in February because I CLEPed out of a computer class when doing my paramedic AAS degree (after 10+ years as a computer professional, I didn't feel like sitting in a basic computer class! :D), so I figured it would work here, too. Sho 'nuff! :D I'm also going to take the Human Growth and Development CLEP to fulfill the Lifespan requirement.

too late for me...where were you when i needed you!!!! LOL you're right they're not forthcoming about this! my best revenge is to pass my CPNE...first time! LOL

i actually got a few extra credits from the gerontology and lifespan and ethics exams! i'm not complaining about ethics, i think i'll need that for my BSN. i'm still mad...

Lunah I'm glad you stated this

I had no idea and this is probably what I'll take after sociology. How much does the clep for this cost?

I believe most CLEP tests are $65, plus the site fee for the school where you test ($15 for me at Shenandoah University in Winchester).

Yeah if you look in Excelsior's catalog book, it does mention CLEP. However, it's very vague and if you don't know what Clep is, you will surely bypass it. Thanks to Lunah for always bringing it up so it stays fresh in the head. CLEP is so much cheaper!!
