snf question

Is okay to store injections such as PPD's and Hepatitis Vacs for staff in a refrig. in a patient (resident) care area?, as long it is not in a refrig. that contains the patients meds?

Featured Replies

Sure, why not. As long as it's in a locked place.

The injectables need to be in a regulated fridge, and it should be okay to store them in the same place as the patients' refrigerated injectables. I would suggest that you might use a small container with 'staff meds' or something similar written on it to keep them separated.

Moving to LTC.

Also, there can be no food whatsoever in the same refrigerator.
