Simulation interviews?

Never heard of this.. I have done many simulations with the mannequin after hired. Just make sure you treat the mannequin like a real patient. Make sure you knock, foam, introduce yourself and check the patient ID band. Then assess.

I have never done this for an interview either. Is this a group simulation or individual? Keep in mind that they are probably assessing your willingness to work together (if its a group simulation), and your teachableness (if that makes sense). They do not expect you to know every single thing during this simulation but instead want to know about your personality and how you respond in stressful situations.

I don't know if it's a group thing or not. I THINK it's not but I'm not sure. I really want to call and ask more about it but I don't want to sound needy or desperate.

This! And wash your hands! Everything you would do with a human patient.

Don't call and ask, it would almost seem like cheating. Are you still in the same town as your school> If so, contact an instructor you got along well with and ask questions you may have. You might even ask if you can have a half hour in the sim lab practicing. If you cant, then get a family member to go mute and pretend to be a mannequin and practice on them.

I doubt that in an interview they will go over much more than the basics, greeting, hand washing, etc are more important than you may think. Re-study the different heart sounds and murmurs, etc in case they throw that at you...you can probably google the sounds to refamiliarize yourself with them just in case.

How did the simulation interview go? I have one tomorrow.
