sick! :(

SICK for real, I'm a mess. You'd think of all educational programs nursing school would have some kind of a "aw, you poor thing, you're sick! take those 3 tests in the next few weeks when you feel better because we care about sick people" clause. :D

Wishful thinking. :uhoh3: Hope I come through this OK, it's the end of the term and I have so much crap to do!!!! :crying2:

What about emailing your professors and getting a doctors note to give you a few days or R and R?

Thats what our policy is, as long as we can produce a dr's note we can write later.

Yeah, i usually get sick at least once per quarter and my instructors are always very understanding and allow me to reschedule or make-up missed tests, classes, clinical, etc. Talk to your instructors to see if that is a possibility- if you haven't already done so.

Wow, I wish that were the case at my school..We get one miss on the clinical and your out!! So stupid. So, many times students will go to work sick. You would think they would not want this practice. After all, this is nursing and spreading sickness could potentially cause a very bad outcome for someone who may already have supressed immunity and then be become ill due to a sick pre-nursing student coming into the hospital. Where is the logic??? Anyway, good luck OP, I hope you feel better soon.:)

I think people also need to point out to their instructors a lot of hospitals (here in Canada anyways) that the hospitals have a if you are sick don't visit policy for visitors and they usually have a if you are displaying these symptoms don't come to work.

I need to move to Canada.:lol2: I knew a lady that missed 2 clinicals because of a death in the family and even though she had a B average she was booted. She was in the last semester. So she had to start all over again. The health instructors need to realize that "life happens" and in extenuating circumstances such as a death one should be allowed to make up a clinical or two.

It's going around here too. My daughter is really sick, I had to miss yesterday (had an exam) to stay home with her, than today my husband stayed with her so I could go in and take the exam. We have to have it retaken within 24 hrs and it has to be really good reason. :|

To those of you with gracious schools, be thankful! :) I don't really have the option to ask. I think if I were hospitalized I would be granted an extension, but that's about it.
