Mar 8, 20188 yr As BTDT stated, the hospital can do what they want, particularly if you're not union or have any state-mandated staffing requirements.Have you talked to your manager about why s/he isn't getting a traveler to cover all these LOAs?

If the staff don't have comp/PTO/whatever it is you call your leave, they aren't getting paid. So in theory there still should be budget money to cover a travelling nurse or pay OT....
