Should I postpone?

Hi guys!

Not sure who else also has there test date rapidly approaching? I have been studying consistently daily for almost 2 months and for me it's already one week before the test. This weekend had many unplanned things happen I'm wondering if I should postpone by a week? I'm using Kaplan and a couple books to study, last week I had re-taken trainers 6 and 7 and improved a lot since last month when I took them.

Is there a way to just check on PearsonVue for other dates? I don't want to postpone my date, but after hardly studying the last three days it has me in a little panic. Any thoughts or suggestions? And any tips on what to study the week before?

Thanks!

You need to sit for the exam when you feel confident. If you feel like you need to postpone for an additional week, then do it. I took my RN NCLEX last Friday. I received a Pass confirmation through quick results on the Pearson Vue website yesterday. I was originally scheduled to test two weeks ago. I postponed it because I didn't ready.

I don't know. My opinion is that it's just best to get it done. Is one extra week of studying really going to make a difference? I feel like after finishing nursing school and reviewing all the information, you're as ready as you're going to be.

However if you really feel you need to postpone, then you should.

You have been studying for 2 months on top of everything that you learned in nursing school. I believe at this point you should sit for the exam. Not studying the last three days is OK. I took a couple day break during my studies and it was the best decision I could have made. Sometimes you mentally need a break before resuming your studies.

Continue your studies until the day before your exam. The day before, don't study a thing. Relax and prepare mentally.

I am not sure what a week of studying will do for you at this point and feel that you might be over-studying. Take your exam...you are probably more prepared than what you give yourself credit for.

Good Luck! Let us know when you pass.

Every single person that I asked after graduation told me to take it ASAP so that I wouldn't start forgetting things from school and I wouldn't have a lot of time to get stressed out.

So I graduated May 7th and took the soonest exam date, May 31st. It was the best day ever! I was so glad to get it over with and I passed.

So my advice is take is ASAP. But if you feel like you need the extra time, take it. Only you can know what works for you.
