Shoes?

Danskos are expensive...and most are so tall! (i have klutz tendencies) I wear Birkinstocks. I think the style is Pro-birkie or something. Costs about 70 bucks. Very wide toe box, non-slip bottoms. I also have high arches so I put a pair of orthotic insoles inside. I do 12's and my feet never hurt at the end of the day. i worked as a chef and wore Birkinstocks there too :)

I'd like to find some crocs, but all the stores carry around here are the beach type crocs with holes, and I don't trust sizing enough to order online.

Try AnyWear shoes...very much like crocs and have the open heel with adjustable strap, but do NOT have the holes at the top -- and they're VERY comfortable. Work great for me, and worth the price. I found mine at a scrub shop.

Do you still like the Alegria? I have been eyeing them. They look very cute. I just got a job as a circulating nurse too! Let me know what you think of them and what style you purchased.

I just got some Sketchers shape-ups and I really like them! They take a little getting used to in terms of walking, but they're really soft and my feet don't hurt after work.

I got some by a brand called mion, they are great for GUYS with wide feet, I dont think they would be too good for women with narrow feet. Mion,pen shell, unfortunately timberland bought out this company and shut them down. I still find them online occasionally and buy them. I have 3 pairs. It has taken me about 18 months to wear the first pair out and now I am on the second pair. I have only found one athletic show that has worked well for long 12+ hour days on your feet in the OR and that is Asics. No Nikes or reboks or any other brands have worked out too well. I probably have 4 pairs of shox, 2 pairs of addidas, one of reboks, crocs(hate them with passion, lack of any foot support). My knee pain has gone away too since switching to the Mions.... wish they still made them....

I used to wear Danskos, but decided to try running shoes, because for some oddd reason, I have become clumsy, and accident prone, and nearly twisted my ankle several times. Now, I wear saucomy running shoes, I feel like I'm floating on air with every step.

Danskos for me too! I am the clinical manager and walk many miles and also circulate and scrub. I have only slighty rolled from stepping on a cord or something, hasn't been a problem. I agree to try on several pairs, they all fit different.

For the past two months, I've been wearing the Sketchers Shape-ups..These are excellent. I bought them because I had a bout of PF and they were comfortable. But,my butt and my legs have toned up too-not complaining about that! My legs also don't ache at the end of my shift.

I've noticed that my calves are firmer with the Shape-ups, but my butt and thighs still have a way to go...especially before summer! They are comfy, though...it truly is like walking on foam. :)

It was funny, when I first started having PF problems in my foot, I had to go back to the Danskos, because they were the only shoes that worked. had to get rid of my Crocs. Then I found the Shape-Ups. I now go between the two pairs. I have high arches in my feet, so good arch support is a must. I just look out for cords when I wear the Danskos..

I wear crocs (the ones with holes) they're comfy, very light, and easy to clean. I think I need shoes with more support, perhaps birkinstocks. I don't think we have the other brands mentioned in Aus, and I'd prefer to try the shoes on before buying them.
