Sharing Office Space

Does anyone have previous experience on starting a practice in an existing office i.e shared office space??

Here's what I mean: I am starting a free clinic starting off 1-2days a week. Instead of finding my own office and getting all my own certificates and health code inspections, etc, I am just going to rent an exam room from a PCP at a cost per day. It is already a certified health office, approved by DOH, so that really saves me a ton of time and $$$.

Has anyone here ever done such a thing? Back home where I use to work I knew an ENT and ID doc who use to share office space.

Besides a contract between the PCP and myself Im not sure if there are any steps I'm missing.

Hmm...what about office help?

I'll use his front office staff to greet patients and fill out new pt forms, and his lab company for biopsies, etc. Other then that, it will be just me doing all the work.

Hmmm...if you are offering biopsies how are you following up on these? Sounds like a lot of hours if you are seeing the pts, doing the vitals, history, etc., performing procedures and then following up. Even if you take out the billing component (free clinic right?) this seems like a very labor-intensive job.

I'm not expecting a large census. So if I see 4-7 patients a day, it will be no big deal as far as collecting vitals and going over H&P. As far as lab results go, I'll go over results when they come back for follow up.

Okay then that makes sense and seems doable.

I would be very much interested in helping or volunteering for this as I am in DFW and do a lot of medical missionary work.

Hi I'm not able to send PM yet, but I graduate next December with my FNP and have done a few mission trips locally and internationally. I plan on Honduras next year as well and I do have my BSN.
