Second Semester, i hate it

Second semester and I love nursing but hate nursing school, the instructors , the adjunct instructors at the hospitals and the way they make us feel and seem to walk around with a grudge.

99% of what I have learned ( on my third rotation) I have self taught. I am quickly losing my joy and I dread going anymore.

Plus my school has been caught fiddling with our grades (long story).

I miss the excitement I used to have. It seems like I am surrounded by people who could care less. I will keep working as hard as I can to make it to the end but the wind is not beneath my wings any longer.

Welcome to life. You thinking being an RN is all rainbows? Lots of days deserve the "hate" title.

But let me tell you, it's worth it in the end. :) Even after a stressful shift, I think to myself, I love what I do...

As a Surgical Tech of 17 years, I am well aware of that. My post had nothing to do with "rainbows", but plenty to do with annoying, unconcerned people!

A LOT of this second year has been stuff we could have done online. The lectures were basically reading the Power Points aloud, and the Power Points are posted online, so it's been pretty self-taught for us, too.

I'm sorry to hear about the grudges and the fiddling with grades. How do your classmates feel? Same way? I know for us, a lot of us have had many of the same concerns, and sometimes it's a relief to know you're not the only one dealing with this stuff.

This too shall pass! Keep chugging through- you'll get there!!

It's the same at my school. They read the PP's and then disappear.

The classmates feel the same way too.

I'm one of the oldest students in my class of 96 people and I think I'm just over the terrorist attitudes I'm dealing with.

Being seasoned to the OR already, I expect a certain level of this but it's way overboard at my school. There are a couple of instructors who shouldn't teach prisoners. Lol well I have gotten it off my chest. Venting can be good. On to those Study Blue Cards !!!!
