I have taken two Med Surg test and have made 80's on both. 80 is the minimum passing grade. I need help with critical thinking. I already rewrite notes, take ATI practice tests, note cards, record lectures and I'm still struggling. I have seven exams left and I need higher test grades. First semester I ended up with a high B average. Confused to what I'm doing wrong this semester. Thanks.

Have you tried working with a tutor once a week?

I agree with de2013. You need another person to bounce off questions and rationales.
I do not know how to find a tutor at the school I am enrolled. I am willing to pay someone to tutor me every week. I guess I should start out asking my instructor. I'm just out of ideas. I have a Renal exam in two weeks and I'm scared I'll over study or study the wrong way. Thanks for your responses.
I'm also a visual learner but I am so afraid if I watch a video I'll be learning it the wrong way. Fear of the video not being completely accurate.
You school should have a center for academic achievement but your professor will k own the details. It should be free.

Study groups are always helpful. People say it all the time, but I used to do a lot of study groups my first 2-3 semesters. I used to be in a study group with the "know-it-all" type, would would disagree with EVERYTHING she thought was wrong and the good thing is, that person a lot of time will have it backed up. The person I studied with had page numbers for everything when she was backing herself up. It was annoying, but that person was usually right.
One of my favorite study habits is when I go to the supermarket. I pick the LONGEST line at checkout and pull out notecards to study them. Just a little random place. I brought my notecards everywhere.
I still do...I have 2 semesters to go (my ADN program is 6 semesters)
Thank you for your helpful tips.
