Hi!! I have been a stay at home mom for many years and recently took a school sub nurse job. I have so much anxiety about going back and not feeling up to date on this type of education (even though I have 4 little ones.) I am looking for pocket guides that have topics on them like diabetes, narcan use, epi pen, first aid and all school nurse info. Does anyone have any pocket guides? I have searched and haven't found luck. I found big books but I want quick reference pocket guides. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Take a look at your state nurse practice act. Try and get an orientation with the district you will be subbing in. The health offices should have a ton of info. Check out your states school nurses association website.
Good Luck!

Here is a pocket manual:

Definitely poke around on the internet- there is some good stuff out there from other school districts.

It's not pocket-sized, but I find the School Nurse Resource Manual very helpful. So much so that I buy the new editions when they come ou. I actually used it as a major part of my studying for the national certification exam...
