Hello all,
Have any of you ever worked a schedule of 3 12 hour shifts and off 6 in a row? I've never heard of that specific on/off rotation and I'm curious if this is common?
Thank you!

That would be a great opportunity. I would grab it.. especially if it's night shift.

When I was younger, I use to put myself on 3 in a row in order to get a bunch of days off together, but it wasn't a requirement. It was a good way to feel like a was able to get time off (even though in reality I actually wasn't) with no seniority.

I work 3 on/ 4 off each week (Sa/Su/M). The schedule 3 on/ 6 off does not work for full-time. Eventually, the schedule will make you short 2 day on a pay period.
Pay period 1
ON: Su/M/Tu OFF: W/Th/F/Sa
OFF Su/M ON: Tu/W/Th OFF: F/Sa (6days/pp)
Pay period 2
OFF Su/M/Tu/W ON: Th/F/Sa
OFF Su-F ON: Sa (4days/PP)
Thank you. it is night shift and I think I am going to grab it. Yes, it's not technically full time, but luckily I don't need full-time right now. My only concern is the 3 in a row. Right now it's not a problem, but the older I get, I know it will catch up to me.

When I worked nights, I did 6 in a row. Where I am now, most of the nurses work 8 hour shifts. Those that are fulltime do 8 or 9 in a row, by choice.
