I have went through the whole lacharity book and exam cram cd, thought 'boy I am going to be soooo prepared now since i've accomplished 2 books', plus i've heard they were good in preparing you. Well, then I heard about NCLEX 3500 free website. Started doing some questions.... freaking out because they are hard, I think. And I feel like I'm not doing good. Then i'm completely overwhelmed with how many questions there are on this website... i'm just freaking because my exam is set scheduled, and it's very soon!! I thought I was excellent because I know my infection control, lab values, medications(endings), lacharity, and exam cram. I thought that was great! But now i'm scared because of NCLEX 3500. Maybe I should reschedule?? But the nclex is suppose to get harder in April. AHHH. I decided right now to just ignore and never look back on NCLEX 3500 and calm myself down and mentally focus on what I have done.
I duno, Any advice?
I can't wait til this exam is over.

I'm assuming you are taking the NCLEX-RN?
The NCLEX-RN was just revised LAST April, and they are revising the NCLEX-PN THIS April. They generally revise the exam every 3 years. If you do not feel ready, then go ahead and reschedule! Your test will not be any harder because they are not revising it. Hope this helps and good luck!
Nooo, actually i'm taking the NCLEX-PN so i'm a little worried.
Here is the new 2011 NCLEX-PN test plan: https://www.ncsbn.org/2011_PN_Test_Plan_FAQ.pdf
Here is the 2011 NCLEX-PN detailed test plan for candidates: https://www.ncsbn.org/2011_PN_DetailedTestPlan_Candidate.pdf
compared to the 2008 NCLEX-PN detailed test plan for candidates: https://www.ncsbn.org/2008_PN_Test_Plan_Web.pdf
Looks like there will be more emphasis on coordinated care, safety & infection control and pharmacological therapies with the new plan compared to the old 2008 plan. Maybe that can help you focus.
In my opinion, you never really "feel" ready to take the NCLEX. I just did tons of practice questions...fellow RNs that I work with said once you start seeing the same stuff over and over again, it means you're ready.
Best of luck to you!
Well I've done some thinking and at this point, i'm going to take a shot at it. It's not like I haven't opened any book. I've done two. For some, they may think I need more info... but I can't go through 5 different thick books like some people....that will just get me extremely confused I know it will. There are 100's of books out there that try to help prepare you. And like you said, I will never really "feel" ready. Whether I take it before April, or wait a year from now....my brain can't store that much info. I am focusing on these two and see where it leads me!! The nclex is so unpredictable, you could just be lucky and have exactly what you studied... or you could be unlucky and have nothing of what you studied. I'm praying to the Lord above. Thank u for posting the new NCLEX-PN test plan :)

Testing April 13th, yes unfortunately the new version that launches April 1. I'm doing cram exam, lacharity and some Saunders disk....Can you keep us posted on how you do, seems like we have the same study plan I too hope it's enough! I graduated in Nov. 2006, I have tested twice and wish I would have kept tring over and over again instead of waiting almost 5 years to try again : (
Wish you the best of luck !!! I'm praying for us both
ciprea... yes I will let you know how it goes. I'm nervous but i just need to get this over with. Right now I am going over questions on this site called rnpedia.com that a person posted on here. (Kudos to that person.) I WISH i had more time to complete this because this seems like a very good site with questions that are similar to the nclex. But I want to get this exam over with before the test plan changes. BLAH.
I've also heard good things about exam cram and lacharity, so hopefully it helps!
Isn't this all so stressful?? It really is. . . this exam determines everything. I wish you the best of luck also. Keep praying & trust in the Lord with all your heart! He has a plan for us!!!
