Scared.. but not guilty!

In my 4th year of KARE..sober almost 7 years..never missed a check in, never a positive until 6/10..we go through Affinity and they’ve sent the second split off to be tested too..I take Zoloft for anxiety and the first GC/MS said it came back for temazepam..what in the crap? My case manager said to wait to see what the other split result is...I’m so upset I can’t even begin to explain...I’ve done a lot of reading/research about zoloft coming back positive as a benzo..any advice, encouragement is greatly appreciated!!!

Take a breath, although, I am sure that is hard to do. I hope things work out in your favor!

Please keep us updated!

I had a positive Temazepam urine too!!! They extended my monitoring for 6 months bc of it??.. I got a lawyer and all.. my itinerary was discarded so i couldn’t retest it?.. crazy how these false positives happen .. I tried to fight it but BON didn’t seem to care that my specimen was discarded!!! So I’m finally done 10/19/19 was supposed to be 4-9/19

I’ve got less than 2 months left and the general lack of trust/ethics/brains/common sense caused by these programs has me a bit (okay, maybe more than a bit) paranoid of anything going awry. At least in my program, the majority of the case managers are nurses themselves. It makes me wonder if they listened in pharmacology class. It is possible for meds that they know you are on to metabolize into other things. I would not call the test a false positive. It is indeed positive but for a medically supported reason. But then, in my experience, medically supported evidence is uSually conveniently ignored, especially if it means keeping a person in this hell for longer. Here, they do a split specimen but if you want the other one tested, you’re paying for it, of course. Doesn’t matter that you already paid for it the first time. Even so, that still doesn’t factor in the above mentioned idiocy.

Fergij, Please keep us updated! This is a scary situation that could happen to any of us. Best wishes to you!

I’m praying things go your way. How scary! I always worry about false positive tests. I’ve been lucky so far as not to have this problem. I wish all the luck in the world.

So the second split came back positive too..I had to sign a cease and desist letter, have been put on administrative leave at work..did a CD eval, they did a buccal swab drug test so I’m waiting on those results...the evaluator feels I’m fit to go back to work..just have to wait for the test to come back which could be Monday or Tuesday..I know I haven’t taken anything other than what I’ve been prescribed...I have been selected since this incident and it’s been negative..so I’ll keep you updated...thank you for all your positive thoughts and prayers!!!

Could we get another update? I’m in KARE. Very curious about your outcome!

Sorry it’s been a busy 2 days...no extension on my contract and I was cleared to go back to work..working today!! Required to do some counseling..that’s it!!!

So you lose time from work, out $$ for an evaluation, develop more gray hair, all over something that people like this should know can occur. Ehh...par for the course....

Whew! Awesome!

I have 90 days left. Holding my breath that nothing like this happens to me.
