Hi I graduated from my LPN program this past August. At the time and still now I been struggling with finances and havent been able to pay for my registration and all and its scaring the crap outta me that its taking so long for me to take boards. I remember our Dean constantly telling us the longer we wait to take our boards the chance of us passing declines. I still go over notes and I do NCLEX review questions and I still recall alot of information. I kno its possible to pass but my confidence is dropping. I will be able to pay for everything next month but I just need a little encouragement. Has anyone or anyone you kno waited a lil longer to take boards and still passed? Thanx for any input:redbeathe

Do not let your worries freak you out. Study hard and you will do just fine. Definitely find a way to come up with the money asap even if it means getting a second gig at McDonalds. Good luck.

I was in the same situation. I was single and pregnant when I graduated from nursing school. There were many factors involved other than that, but bottom line is that it was a full year before I could afford to take boards. Luckily, I was working as a GPN in the meantime. I passed with 85 questions! You can do it too! Good luck!

I graduated the begining of June '07, and took the boards the end of August '07. The best thing I found to do is to take all of the practive tests in your books. Just take them, no peeking;). Then self correct them. The questions that you get incorrect, you know you need to review. Sometimes you can see a trend of what topic is your weaker one, especially if you have 3-4 NCLEX-PN books. I travelled a long way to take my NCLEX-PN, and was so sure that I had failed....but have been an LPN ever since!!
Good luck to you, and best wishes!

I graduated in June of this year and didn't take my NCLEX until August. To be honest I didn't kill myself studying after graduation. I just reviewed over stuff that I knew I seemed to have problems remembering. I also purchased the Saunders 4th edition PN comprehensive review, which I found to be a really good book.
My test stopped at 85 questions, as did three of my classmates who tested the same day I did and we all passed. I am sure you will be fine.
Good luck to you and have a great day!

well, to tell you to not be scared won't help, because yes you will be scared. I passed and so did all of my classmates, and we all felt the same way, and we all cried when the test shut off, and we all thought we failed...and none of us failed! If you have been doing your NCLEX questions then you will be fine, just take your time and read the question carefully...note any key words in the question, make sure you know what the question is asking before you select your answer. Memorize your lab values, this will help you answer any lab questions. All of us had lots of medication questions don't let this upset you while you are taking the test, just keep on breathing.
