SBVC Nursing Program Fall 2022

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else is applying to the San Bernardino Valley College Nursing program for Fall 2022. The application period just opened up 03/15/22 so I want to use this as a tracking board for any updates about this program application period ?

Hello ! First of all congrats that’s awesome! The packet they emailed us has all the information for how to sign up for castle branch. You will be instructed to do a drug test and a background check straight through castle branch as well as all the other requirements:) I wish I had recorded it since it was a lot to remember but once you make a castle branch account it should be all in there

Okay thank you for responding! I’m super excited! Can’t wait to meet everyone!

For those of you guys who had/have a negative titer, we’re you able to be checked off on CastleBranch as complete?

Hey so 2 of my titers came back negative the measles one I got a booster for and I was set and the hep b is a series of 3. As long as you have the first dose of a vaccine you need you should be okay you will just have to go back later and submit documentation. But it does still show incomplete for me

I got a negative titer for varicella. I’m just stressing out because on CB it says rejected instead of completed even though I submitted my booster. Does it show the same for you?

@Applejax

Does it say an explanation? One of mine said rejected too and it said it was because the date wasn’t included in the document I submitted. If you go under message alerts it should give you a reason and you can try resubmitting. Sorry I know the whole thing is confusing. for me I submitted the negative titer and then it created a place for me to upload my booster shots

It said that I have submitted a negative titer and I need to submit a positive. I resubmitted my booster only so I’m hoping they’ll take that? What happened with you submitted a negative titer?

Oh okay! Yes you’re supposed to submit your titer even if it’s negative and then in 1-2 days there will be a new line to submit your booster shot. So send in your titer and wait for them to create the line to submit your booster well at least that’s how it worked for me:/ you can always email the counselors because that’s very weird

You are not alone. Castle Branch requirements are not for the faint of heart. Be patient and after submitting your negative titer CB will create an additional requirement for you: That is when you send proof of your booster, only until then you send it. Then, as our colleague states in 1-2 days you will be allowed to send proof for booster. Do follow those instructions carefully word by word. Worst case scenario CB guides you on what to do next. When everything is said and done and still in doubt communicate reach out to nursing director or their counselors. Best wishes we are all doing the best we can, and you are definitely not alone we are all under the pressure of completing all requirements by our quickly approaching deadline of July 1st.

On the other hand, I share with you the flyer for an event from SBVC Student Health Services that will happen tomorrow Thursday... This may help to ease some current stressors and to relax a bit. I've also included the link to Student t Health Services website for their location, etc.

PS: Can some of you share how are you practicing self-care during the Summer? And besides CB how are you getting prepared for nursing school that is scheduled to start in August? TIA

~Have a great day~

You are so nice!
& I can’t help you w/ self care bcus the only thing I do for that is shower LOL I’m too busy taking care of my little one. But what I like to do that makes me feel relaxed is clean my house & organize. And a lot of retail therapy??‍♀️?

Also, where are you guys actually buying your supplies from. Like the blood pressure cuffs, stethoscope, bandage scissors, & penlight?

I bought most of that stuff from Amazon ? the stethoscope I bought from student med shop because the ones on Amazon had bad reviews I kinda splurged on that one item and got a Littman it was like 90$ not too bad

So I went to pick up my school uniforms today in Colton and went ahead and purchased my pen light and bandage scissors there…it came with a pouch to keep in place. After shopping around a bit I felt the price was okay of $16 considering I was already there and the essence of time. Certainly it is urgent to not wait as we do not want to have these small yet important items missing last minute. Here it is please see attachment

PS: Excuse the sunlight’s reflection on the image with package.

-Have a great day
