SAC Nursing Program

Anyone applying for the Fall 2019 Nursing Program at SAC???

Featured Replies

I may apply but I'm not certain. I need 2 more courses. I'm apprehensive as I've heard it's disorganized.

How bad disorganized? I am on my last class now, but I still need to take the TEAS.

I currently take classes at SAC. From what I've heard on allnurses as well as from SAC students they tend to be disorganized and don't have consistent staff. Take a look at their NCLEX pass rates for the past few years and compare that to other programs in San Antonio.

I saw that...It's really difficult to get into the program, so I don't know why they are disorganized, and their pass rates are low. You would think since it is so hard to get into that they would be high.

They're selective when it comes to Prerequisite GPA + TEAS Score, perhaps they should be more selective on their nursing instructors.... I'm still considering applying mostly as a backup. I'm planning to schedule a tour of the nursing program, I will certainly bring up the NCLEX pass rate.

Oh wow, I didn't know you could do a tour. I want to apply at UT health or baptist, but they are outrageously expensive.

Same here, I'd love to go to UT Health but the price is too much. I applied for the fall of 2019 with SAC. I also heard they were unorganized, and that if you get in you will get an email, but if you don't get in you won't hear anything... I hope that's not the case. I also heard that they really take the TEAS test results seriously and that's what you need to focus on.

Has anyone gotten the email to their personal email accounts yet? I got one but the wording is so vague. I’m not sure if this means I got accepted or not, but I hope so!

I got one too! My advisor had told me you will technically get accepted twice. You'll first get an acceptance letter, and you'll have to reply letting them know you accept and the form they sent. Then after your background check, drug test and all your shots are up to date then you'll get the final acceptance! Congrats!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you too!!

That makes sense now. I’ll be sending that email this weekend!

Are you going to accept? I know some people apply to SAC as their backup plan.

Thanks! Yes I'm going to accept, financially it's my best option. Good luck to you, maybe I'll see you there ?

Let us know how you like it!! I applied for spring 2020.
