sacstudent did you have all your pre reqs done?

Hi MikeMya 06, yes I do have all of my pre-reqs. Do you have all of yours? Not to worry, you have to think positive.:)

i am taking micro this summer.

i don't understand why i haven't gotten an email to let me know if i made it or not!

i called the school and they asked if i checked my email and i told them yes. she took my email down and my name and said she would let them know.

I do hope you hear something soon. I think Micro, AP1 and AP2 are the main pre reqs for admission. I am not sure though. Check your spam email too. Its where I found my email. Dont worry, I am sure you will hear something soon. If not, I would go to the Nursing Department next week. There are several items that need to be turned in by June 1. Just keep checking and let us know what you hear. Good Luck..

...back when you actually submitted your app for fall 2011, was that micro the only pre-req you still needed? ..even that class alone...is a big factor.

..but yes, you need to be notified either way, ..if you have not already, going down there in person will likely have better chance of getting an answer than on the phone.

Just curious, how many applicants to they accept every semester for the traditional RN program there? We just added a third campus for nursing so we are now up to 150 applicants accepted per semester out of 600 or so applicants.

It's always interesting to see how different programs can be when we are only 90 miles apart.

..yep, simple ranking formula here too, of GPA & prereqs completed.

I was actually wondering too, about how many apps they accept here each semester, ..and according to the info we just received in our packets, its 210..with half starting in flex 1..the other half start flex 2...and it appears that 210 is combined of generic program & mobility program.

..and the math requirement was actually recently lowered here...kinda suprising considering how many apps they receive each sem, which is reported to be around 1K

yes micro that was the only class i had left and i plan on taking it this summer. well i will let you know what happens

can anyone tell me who the acceptance/ denial email is from.

YAY!!! I got my acceptance letter! Now there is a whole bunch of stuff I have to get together by June 1st. Has anyone else heard a response? I got my email on Friday, May 6. The email was from *****, San Antonio Colleges.

I am curious, does anyone know how much tuition is per semester? I can't really figure out an actual number, I can see per credit hour cost but aren't there extra fees associated with the nursing program? Any info on this from anyone will help - thanks!

..info on the tuition: whatever the current going rate for 10 credit hrs + the additional nursing fee (at least $700), but I've been curious as well...if that nursing fee is each semester (probably).

As far as all this packet stuff: ...I suppose you folks have been busy trying to get this stuff done and organized too. ..it would appear that waiting for this "postcard" from the BON about our background check is one of the things we don't really have much control over...just sit wait...& keep checking the mail box (snail mail)! Does anyone happen to know...maybe from somebody that is already in the program, about how long the wait was/is for this "postcard"?? ...(with normal circumstances/no problems/criminal stuff)

Also, ..anyone tried to purchase the student health insurance yet? ..through the link provided in our instruction packet? (ahpcare.com) I tried today...and it is not even possible yet to do for the fall..they said to try back next week.

...just wonderin' how things are going for yall in this next little set of hurdles...seems like this thread has kinda came to a slowdown...since the email acceptance celebrations:p

I am thinking that the BON postcard will be quick to receive, at least I hope it is! When I went online to schedule a fingerprint appointment, the soonest they had was for Friday this week, and I scheduled it 3 days in advance. I noticed on the admission packet it says we need a flu shot (seasonal), but this was not a part of the required vaccines before. I tried to call the nursing dept but of course have not received a call back from them yet - I guess I should be safe and go get a flu shot? They are harder to find now that we are out of flu season!

idiopathic - I am guessing too that the tuition will be regular tuition for 10 hours, but is that twice per semester because they are flex classes? And I wonder if the nursing fees are twice per semester, too. I wish there was someone on here who could answer that is in school right now, I am trying not to take out loans and I like to know things in advance.

Oh and here's a tip for everyone - if you are trying to get your books, check out half.com. I just ordered 3 of the books we will need, the current editions, for a total of less than 50 dollars - and that included shipping. Half.com and Craigslist are my bestest friends right now! :D
