Rush MSN Program.

I plan on applying for winter entry to the GEM program. I have an undergrad GPA of 3.6 (was a biology and anthropolgy double major). Didn't take the GRE. I have 2+ years of ED experience as an ER Tech. Wanted to go to med school but $200,000 debt kinda put a stop to that. Plus every doc I've met told me not to be a doc...

Any opinions/advice for us applicants???

I am in the FNP program and it's very hard. There's little time for work or social life. Had to quit my job cause I wasn't doing well in one class and needed more time to study. NOt sure what classes are different. Acceptance wasn't hard. Had decent gpa and references.

Wow was looking into getting into this program...not sure now if I'm going to be able to do it (married w/ children - wanted to keep my current job and cut to PT)

I'm looking at becoming an NNP in the future and was very impressed with their program, especially since you can do it online and I live in FLA.

The GEMs program is essentially the ABSN with 3 extra quarters. I think the extra classes and clinicals are in leadership and management. At least that's what it sounded like to me. The program director was my advisor in school.

So, if it is similar, there is no way to you can work and go to school. The only work my classmates did were jobs like bartending, waitering, babysitting, etc. for a couple hours a month. I pretty much woke up went to class, came home, and studied till I went to bed. I would say it is pretty much the same work load as med school, but only for one year. I only say that because my sister went to med school, so I can compare. Each quarter gets easier.
