i wish i would have had this kind of camaraderie while i was in the nursing program, there were only a few of us guys at the beginning of the program, then at graduation it was only me! here's a great hooray! for us men in the nursing profession...

^ Haha I was the only guy too at the graduation lineup.. Amongst 16 girls, legittt!

Hell yeah!!!!

Add me to the roll call.

Anyone else ever have to deliver a lecture to the women that it isn't inappropriate behavior for a patient to scratch the boys, but simply ordinary male behavior?

48YO Male Grad Nurse here! Army Veteran too!

Working on NCLEX prep!

Interesting - and gratifying - to see how many of us "well seasoned" guys entering nursing are vets and particularly Army vets. Good luck with the NCLEX!

I guess I was lucky - we had 3 guys in my evening/weekend classroom section. My school had one large weekend lecture (on burns), which students from all the sections had to attend. Out of more than 125 students, I counted a total of 6 guys, so the Y chromosome contingent was less than 5% of the population. Don't know if it was deliberate, but I never had another guy with me for any of our clinical rotations either.
