rn to psychnp

Привет. Hola. Hi everyone. I am considering the fast track program rn to pnp at a university. It will shave off a year off the bsn coursework and transitions into pnp courses compared to a traditional 2 year bsn program then 1 year experience and then applying to psychiatric np program at the university. I have been an lpn for 3 years and an rn for about 2 months. Do you guys think i have enough experience for the psychnp program? I am getting older and am going to turn 28 so this decision is important. What should i expect once past the bsn level into the pnp coursework? I am an average student but have pretty good knowlede of psych meds and issues. Thanks for your time and help your responce is important to me. Peace.

Is your 3 years of LPN experience on an inpatient psych unit? If so I'd say you are in a good position for continuing in school with plans of becoming a psych-NP. Although others disagree I found everything school wise past my ADN to be a piece of cake.

Nursing home. So i deal a lot with polypharm and death. There is a lot of falls and strokes and hospital and 911 ems interactions. There are a lot of psychotropic drugs involved tho especially for dep and bipolar. Psych np comes in daily. I have a.d.d so i have experience taking ssri's and the whole lot. I understand that working on psych floor is more specific with what im trying to do and i need to switch jobs but it is what it is right now.Thats cool that you found coursework past adn easy. How is msn work different? Can you give an example of a clinical or a day in class and what you were tested on? Thanks for the your comment.
