RN-BSN or Frontier Bridge Classes

I am currently a pre-nursing student. I will have most if not all of my academic requirements completed prior to taking the nursing classes at my school (next fall). Next semester I only can take A&PII and English I towards my nursing requirements and then Microbio and English II in the summer and that fills all of my requirements other than the nursing courses which are 8 credit classes at my school. I am planning to keep a full course load so that hopefully some of the classes that I take will transfer towards my RN-BSN or the Bridge Program at Frontier. The only ones that I can think of are Medical Terminology and Elementary Statistics. Are there any others that you would suggest?

I have also considered taking the Massage Therapy courses at my school at the same time as the Nursing courses since I will have all of the academics completed for that program also. Would this help me in my future as a Midwife?

If you do the Bridge at Frontier (which I'm doing), you only need your ADN degree. If you decide to do the RN-BSN, then you can apply straight for the MSN program of study at Frontier. You would need to check with Frontier about whether your stats call is transferable to Frontier though.

Don't forget to look at the tuition. I found Frontier to be far more expensive to do their "bridge" classes vs getting a BSN and possibly going in BSN prepared...just no question as to how it compared expense-wise.

I was happy to accept the higher cost in exchange for a shorter transition period and fewer BS classes. ( This is not intended as an abbreviation for bachelors. lol )

I had absolutely no use for a BSN except as a stepping stone to my masters. I had put off my dream for years because getting the BSN felt like such a waste of my time. Now, even though I'm doing the bridge, I can tell myself that I'm pursuing my masters degree and my dream of being a CNM. This makes it feel worthwhile to me.

I know this choice is strictly individual, just my $.02. Good luck whatever you choose, Shannon
